It’s been a busy week at Underhound Railroad and we wouldn’t have it any other way! 🐾❤️ We welcomed four at risk pups from overcrowded shelters in North Carolina.
✨ Shimmer and Shine, a pair of 16 week old siblings that were growing up behind shelter walls. Now they finally get to be puppies in foster homes where they’re safe and loved.
💖 Faline and Chico, two sweet but terrified Chihuahuas, were shut down in the shelter. They’ve already started to come out of their shells in foster care with a little patience and a lot of love.

Patti Mayonnaise has officially been adopted by her foster family! 💛 When Patti first arrived at Underhound Railroad, she was facing severe skin issues that needed constant care. With regular vet visits, medicated baths and daily medication, it was a long road to healing. But through every step, her foster was right there helping Patti feel loved and comfortable. Now fully on the mend, Patti is living her best life and she’s made it clear she’s right where she belongs. Sweet, soulful Elle is still waiting for her furever home and we can't believe someone hasn't scooped her up yet! 💛
At 8 years old, this Lab mix has truly mastered the art of companionship. She is calm, cuddly, and lives for the simple things like a sunny spot to nap, a leisurely stroll, and time spent with her people. Her gentle eyes say it all. Elle is full of love and ready to share it. 🌞
Elle gets along well with other dogs but would also be perfectly content as your one and only. She soaks up every bit of affection—pets, hugs, kisses—and gives it all back with loyal companionship and sweet, heart melting gazes. 🫶
She’s got the sweetness, the squish, and the sparkle. You just bring the home. ✨

Loki is just a year old, but he has already been through so much. Rescued from an overcrowded shelter back in April, this little fox look-alike is now safe in foster care and working on building his confidence and trust every day. 🦊 While he is not quite ready for adoption, Loki is soaking up love, learning that the world isn’t so scary and showing off how much he loves toys! Especially treat toys that keep his clever mind busy. 🧩🧠

Looking for a sweet, playful and dog friendly companion? Meet Birdie! 🐾🐦
Birdie is a 1 year old mixed breed girl who’s as affectionate as she is adorable. Rescued as a pup, she has grown into a happy, loving dog who’s ready to find her furever home. 💜 She LOVES playing tag with her foster dog siblings, zooming around the yard, and soaking up all the attention from her humans. She also CAT FRIENDLY and would do best with another friendly dog in the home to keep her company and boost her confidence 💕
Birdie has a playful side but also knows how to relax. She is a total cuddle bug who’s all about belly rubs and being close to her people. She walks well on a leash and enjoys meeting new dogs and friendly faces along the way.
