Reviews
Underhound Railroad was exceptional during our entire rescue adoption process. The foster home was wonderful and we were able to get all our questions answered. They went above and beyond to help is find the right rescue to add to our existing family and our current rescue dog. They made sure our home was safe and secure so that when we decided, we were all sure it was the right choice for us. We rescued our girl in December and couldn’t be happier! Thank you for your help adding an amazing new member to our home!
– Donna
Penny (now our “little one”, Piccola) came to us after two weeks with her wonderful foster parents. It was a whirlwind romance–we fell for that adorable little pit face the moment we saw her. We don’t want to think too much about what Piccola went through before Underhound Railroad rescued her, took care of her, and brought her our way, but we plan to do everything to make the rest of her life as wonderful as possible. Thank you for stepping in when Piccola needed it! You’re organization is outstanding to work with and doing something exceptional.

We adopted our dog four years ago through Underhound Railroad. I was able to learn a lot about her from her foster and we were able to see that this dog would be a good match for us. Underhound volunteers take wonderful care of the dogs and pups they bring up from the south to save them from euthanasia. And that includes providing lots of love and patience as well as physical care. I wouldn’t hesitate to adopt another dog from Underhound Railroad.

I’ve adopted two wonderful dogs through this agency. They’ve been two of the best companions that I could ever ask for. The volunteers were always a delight to speak with and always putting the best interest of the dog before anything else.
– Ryan
Excellent, caring, ethical and well directed rescue. I have fostered dogs for them, evaluated dogs on their behalf in shelters and assisted with pulling those dogs for the rescue, and even adopted one of the dogs I fostered. Highly recommend.
– Samantha
Underhound Railroad helped to bring us a wonderful little pup after my husband and I suddenly and unexpectedly lost one of our precious fur babies. Everyone involved worked to hard and quickly to make sure all of the potential adoptors and fosters were matched with the perfect Underhound. Our dog has been such a joy for us and if ever we find ourselves looking for another furbaby… Underhound Railroad is going to be the first place we look!

⭐ Wishlist Wednesday for Dove! ⭐
Dove’s journey has been one of courage and love. She was found as a stray, sheltering her newborn puppies underneath a shed. Now that all her puppies are in loving adoptive homes, it’s finally Dove’s turn to shine and find a furever family! ✨
Dove is a playful one year old hound who adores the company of other dogs, enjoys outdoor adventures, and loves a good walk. After a day of exploring, Dove is happiest when she can curl up in a cozy bed—her favorite fuzzy one got plenty of puppy love, so a new one would make her feel extra special. She’d also have fun with some squeaky or rope toys to bring out her playful spirit. 🥎🧸
If you'd like to help make Dove’s days cozier and brighter while she waits for her furever home, check out her Amazon Wishlist: www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/1UMCPJEZAQN39 ... See MoreSee Less

Dove is super affectionate, loves to go for rides and loves loves loves to collect squeaky toys! She has been a joy to foster❤️
Hoping Dove finds her fur-ever home quickly! ❤️
The hedgehog toy kicked back an error about not shipping to the gift address, otherwise Miss Dove should have a few goodies on the way
FOSTER PLEA FOR OLI ♥️
Oli, who was adopted as a puppy, is now in need of a calm and structured foster home as he returns to Underhound Railroad's care. Despite his early start with a family, he’s facing some challenges and will come with training and behavioral support to help him adjust smoothly.
We are primarily looking for a foster home in North Carolina, but we’re open to other locations for the right fit. Oli needs an adult-only home with no other animals, or one that can ensure full separation from other pets. 🐾
If you have the space, time, and dedication to give Oli a fresh start, please apply to be his foster.

We’re excited to share that Elias, now named Romeo (with the adorable nickname “Baldy” from his early puppy days when he was a bit bare!), has found his furever home! Rescued in Texas, Romeo made his way to North Carolina, where his adoptive mom is thrilled to have such a big hearted guy to love. Even better, Romeo will still get to enjoy playdates with his littermates and momma! Happy tails! 🏠♥️ ... See MoreSee Less
